London based Brazilian ghetto punks Fantazmaz exploded onto the scene in 2025 with their self‑titled debut album – a raw, political, and unapologetically fierce punk manifesto. Recorded in just two days at London’s Monolith Studios, the album has been met with a crescendo of critical acclaim, hailed as a refreshing burst of angst and rebellion in an increasingly sanitized world.
“Live they are a band to behold, all blistering punk energy with a fearless stage presence. They have fully captured their chaotic spirit on this record!” – Vive Le Rock Magazine
Formed by the indefatigable vocalist Thamila Zenthöfer and guitarist Raf Oliveira, and later joined by bassist Chokito and ex‑UK Subs / SNFU drummer Jamie Oliver, Fantazmaz fuse 80s hardcore and razor‑sharp social commentary into a potent, high‑velocity sonic cocktail.
“Tense, furious, unfiltered, and utterly, utterly, brilliant.” – Black Metal Archives
In May 2025, their one‑minute punk blitz “Distortion” was named Track of the Week by Metal Hammer, who called it “a high‑speed blast of spiky, old‑school punk”. Following a week of public voting, and going up against major names like Parkway Drive, Orbit Culture, and even Halsey – Fantazmaz were crowned champions, a clear sign that their message and music are striking a nerve with listeners across the heavy music spectrum.
Fresh off their first South American tour and newly signed to Repetente Records, Fantazmaz hit Brazil’s national radio twice in one week, with Sepultura legend Andreas Kisser giving them 18 minutes of his one-hour show – spinning tracks and interviewing the band – and DJ Thiago bringing them in live, both on 89FM.
Fantazmaz now look to 2026 with their sights set firmly on the road, expanding their chaos across Europe and beyond while crafting the next chapter in their crazy journey.
Armed with new material, a sharpened political edge, and a relentless live show that feels permanently on the verge of detonation, Fantazmaz stand poised to drag 80’s hardcore punk kicking and screaming into the present day – louder, faster, and more uncompromising than ever.
